George Bahm, known by his Tlingit name Yaá Ndakin Yeił, which translates to "flying raven," possesses a diverse skill set rooted in both tradition knowledge  and contemporary expertise. Combining his extensive trapping experience with outdoor education, George has honed his craft and become a pillar of knowledge in his field. His profound respect for the land and its teachings has shaped his journey, making him a valuable asset to the Wild Yukon Furs team.


During his 11-year career at the Yukon Government, George's passion for Indigenous education led him to the role of First Nations Experiential Advisor for the Department of Education. His dedication and commitment were duly recognized when he was awarded the prestigious title of Indigenous Employee of the Year in 2017. This accolade not only acknowledged George's exceptional contributions but also highlighted the impact he has made in preserving and promoting Indigenous traditions.

George's connection to the land runs deep, instilled in him by the generations that came before him. The wisdom and teachings of his ancestors have guided his journey, instilling in him a profound appreciation for cultural preservation.
